I like the website. I am looking for a camera system for my own bike, for a huge six-month America/Canada/Alaska motorcycle tour to take place this Spring and Summer of 2019. I’ve been searching for the solution I envision, but it seems most manufacturers cannot think outside of the box. So many systems, all designed on a similar idea, but NONE that offer features (at an added expense, of course) that would make the systems even better.
I want to put cameras on my bike, but along with the front and rear views, I also want left and right side views, as well as left forward and right forward, and left rear and right rear views. I’d like a low, rear mounted camera to watch the tires of my Escapade trailer. I’d also like a camera pointed at me from my dash. You might think this is overkill on a touring bike, but when you are on trial for an accident, and the other guy says, “He wasn’t even watching where he was going!” it would be nice to provide a video to your attorney showing that where you were going is EXACTLY the direction you were looking at the time of the accident. If the niece of a small town Mayor runs out in front of you on Main Street, and you cannot provide clear video evidence that proves you were not at fault, you might spend a very long time in a very dingy jail cell, after being convicted by a jury full of that child’s relatives.
Along with that, a camera that records the rider, combined with an ignition-off motion sensor would automatically record someone who mounts the bike, either playfully, or with the intent of stealing the bike.
Add in Cellular uploads of video clips to the cloud, and a few other features, and you would have a GREAT bike DVR option!

  This sounds amazing and more like a home security camera set up where all the cameras tie back to the main recording unit. It also sounds like what Tesla does for handling its autonomous driving where it uses cameras and sensors – and a smart computer system. Unless you can find a shop that does custom dash camera installs, I’m not sure you’ll find anything like this on the market.
  Does anyone else know where Joseph can find this type of dash cam rig?

  Hi Joseph, not sure if anyone else has responded with anything similar but have considered a 360 camera? We use them frequently for work (commercial videography, not motoring or travel) but I am considering getting one for personal motorbike trips.
